Biking in Acadia is fun and it comes in all forms. You can do flat stuff, gentle hills, and not so gentle hills. View mountains, lakes, or ocean... it's your choice.
We've tried to bike every time we've visited Acadia National Park. Some bike trips were more successful than others. So, we decided to put together this page where we could tell you about some of our more enjoyable bike routes. And, at the bottom of the page, you can find some of our visitors' favorite routes (which may or may not be the same as ours).

Some of Our Favorite Acadia Biking Trails
We recommend that most people stick with the carriage roads. They're the most bike-friendly and family-friendly routes on Mount Desert Island... no vehicle traffic, limited foot traffic and beautiful views everywhere you look.
