Acadia National Park Carriage Roads

Spot the Carriage Road Bridges Photo Contest
Enter TODAY!

Acadia National Park carriage roads are highlighted by 16 unique stone carriage road bridges. How many of these bridges can you find on your next Acadia National Park vacation? ... Enter our Acadia photo contest!

Stanley Brook Bridge

We're running a fun photo contest. Here's what it's all about...

We've been to Acadia National Park SIX times... yep, that's right... six times! And yet... when we built our carriage road bridges page on the site, it immediately became clear that we hadn't seen all of Acadia's beautiful carriage road stone bridges.

Each one is unique in appearance and size and located for maximum viewing pleasure, so why hadn't we made this more of a priority while there?

Well, we can't answer that, but things will definitely be different on our next trip. Smile

But meanwhile, we thought it would be fun to start a new photo contest for our readers to see how many of you have seen ALL (or at least most) of Acadia National Park carriage roads bridges.

Also... In our research, we found there aren't really a lot of photos available in cyberspace of the bridges, especially the lesser-known ones. So it will benefit the site and future visitors if we can add to our photo galleries of the carriage road bridges!

Why You Should Enter

You might be wondering why you should bother entering this contest, so here are a few reasons for you to ponder...

  • It will be fun to see how many of the 16 bridges YOU can locate and photograph on your next trip to Acadia NP!
  • You'll pay it forward... by adding your photos to our galleries, you'll help future visitors to Acadia know what the bridges look like, making it easier for them to spot them.
  • You could win prizes! What prizes, I hear you asking? Well... how's an Amazon gift card... or a carriage road bridges photo book... or an Acadia NP handbook sound? Those are just a few of the prizes I'm considering... and every contestant will win SOMEthing.
  • You'll enjoy beautiful scenery, invigorating hikes and challenging bike rides around our most beautiful eastern national park. Can't argue with that!

Is that enough reasons for you? Smile

Contest Rules

We know, we know... we hate rules too! So, think of them more as guidelines, if that goes down easier...

  1. All photos entered must be your own. Please don't grab them from anywhere else on the Web, unless you own the copyrights.
  2. Contest runs from now until the end of October. We're giving you all the entire summer/fall season of Acadia to capture the photos. If you're not going this year, don't worry... we may run the contest every year.
  3. Enter as many photos as you can... most bridges captured in the photos WINS the grand prize. There are 16 bridges on the Acadia National Park carriage roads (see the list/descriptions/locations here).

Each form submission allows up to 4 photos, so if you have spotted more than 4 bridges, then just keep doing multiple entries until you've submitted ALL of the bridges you've spotted. We'll count them all up together.
  4. Each bridge counts once. We welcome multiple photos of a bridge, particularly if they are from different angles or show different parts of the bridge, but each bridge will only count once in your total.
  5. You must leave us your name and email address. Otherwise, we can't contact you about what you've won (remember, everyone wins something!). We won't use your email for anything else OR share it with anyone else.
  6. In the case of a tie, our votes will determine the winner. There are 3 of us, with 3 perspectives, so we'll put our heads together and decide which of the tying contestants submitted the best overall photos of the carriage road bridges.
  7. Photos aren't enough... we also need information! Our visitors/readers benefit more when a photo is accompanied by information about it. So please... tell us about how you found the bridge, what you did there, what kind of day it was, the camera you used, who you were with, etc... Otherwise, we'll probably disqualify your entry.
  8. Get Going on Your Spotting!

So, get going... start spotting those Acadia National Park carriage roads bridges, snap some photos, write down some notes... and then come back here and tell us all about it... and show us what you saw!

That's all there is to it...

And by the way... if you've already been to Acadia NP and want to share photos you already have on your computer, then that's fine too.

Start: Carriage Road Bridges Photo Contest

Note - Photos must be taken by you or your minor child. You must have the right to use the photo. Discover-Acadia is not responsible for photos submitted by viewers.

Enter a Descriptive Title for your Photo

We are really looking forward to seeing all of your Acadia National Park carriage roads bridges photos! They're an oft-overlooked wonder of magical Acadia... at least from our viewpoint.

Let's see if we can change that.
