Acadia National Park Photos Contest
Enter Your Best Photos of Acadia National Park!
Upload your Acadia National Park photos and/or pictures of Mount Desert Island in Maine to this site and automatically be included in our monthly contest.
The three of us have taken hundreds of photos of Acadia NP in our 6 trips there, but we'd love to add even more to this site. After all, one of the best ways to experience a destination is through the visual eye, don't you think?
So, if you have photos you've taken of the park during your time there, please... share them with us! And be featured on the site for a whole month afterward.
We welcome photos from amateurs like us, semi-professionals or hobbyists, and even professionals... all are eligible for our monthly contests!
How to Enter Our Online Digital Photo Contests
First of all... just let me say, it's dead easy!
1. Scroll down to the entry form below and enter a Title for your Acadia National Park photos.
2. Then, add a few notes, such as:
When the photo was taken.
What the weather conditions were like.
What camera was used.
Any tips, suggestions, or details,
And any other story or comment to go along with it.
3. Next, upload your photo. The size of the photos are limited to save time and space, so resize the photos if you can't upload them. The photo should be less than 1,000 pixels in height or width.
The winner gets his/her photo on the home page, right column for one month, with credits to you, the photographer.
Discover-Acadia.com had over 10,000 page views in April 2011, but during the summer months has gone to over 17,500 page views.
Each month our visitors increase, so you can imagine the exposure your photo will get. You know, impress your friends and family. (You may submit a watermarked photo if you are concerned about "photo theft.") Please enter only one photo per month.
How Acadia Photos Contest Judging Works
The Acadia National Park photos shared by our visitors are judged by other visitors to your page. They should vote only once but may comment below your photo's description as much as they wish.
Here is how the judging works... When you upload a photo and add a comment, this becomes your unique page on our site.
Each time a visitor looks at your page, he/she has an opportunity to click the social buttons following the phots and comments.
There are 4 social buttons - "Like," (Facebook) "Tweet," "+1," (Google) and "SU" (StumbleUpon). More buttons might be added later.
To vote, click on 1, 2, 3, or all 4 buttons. The photographer should always vote once for his own photo, just to get the ball rolling (no one likes to be first!).
At the end of the month, we count up the total clicks received for each of the Acadia National Park photos entered into the contest that month and the one with the most votes becomes the winner. So it is important for you to share with your friends by clicking your buttons as soon as your photo is posted, so they have a chance to vote before the deadline.
Feel free to comment on any of the other photographer's photos too. To see comments, scroll down on each photo page.
