On our 3rd trip to Acadia, we used this company for a whale watch tour. It's located right in Bar Harbor and is easy to find. It's also near the Bar Harbor Whale Museum, which you can browse while you wait.
We had a beautiful, though cold, day for our tour. After about a half hour or a little more, we were out of Frenchman Bay and on to the Atlantic Ocean, where you're more likely to see whales.
We were fortunate enough to see a ton of whales that day. They breached, swam, and put on quite a show. We also saw a mama and baby porpoise swimming along the boat, which was fun.
The tour company was great, along with their services and facilities. I'd highly recommend them to anyone wanting to see whales while they're in Bar Harbor.
