Heavy Surf on Sand Beach in Acadia NP

This picture was taken during the fall of 2008 at Acadia National Park's Sand Beach. Although this is a popular beach for swimming and summertime fun for families when the weather is warm, in October, the seas are churning and both the air and the water are COLD!

I took this with my DSLR camera. I loved the contrast in lighting and textures between the waves, the sand and the rocky cliffs surrounding the beach!
